Kotaku has managed to connect some awfully weird dots relating to the killer whale that drowned a trainer at the Orlando Sea World this week. You might have heard that the killer whale had been involved in two previous fatalities. Another trainer had been killed in 1991. In 1999, a man presumably suffering some sort of mental disorder sneaked into the park during the night was found dead in the whale's tank the next morning.
Here's the weird videogaming connection: the man found dead in the tank is the same man who had a run-in with Ultima creator Richard Garriott. Garriott told Kotaku the man was an Ultima fan who broke into his house and crashed in his bed, undeterred even when Garriott brandished and fired a weapon. It wasn't long after that incident that the guy met his grisly end with the killer whale.
I have nothing to add. It's already all too weird.
