Tech Crunch details an interesting spat between Facebook and Zynga, the creators of the immensely popular Farmville that you and I will probably eventually play because 63 million people can't be wrong. At that time, I hope you'll come over and help work my farm.
It seems that Zynga's most recent game, Fishville, is being used as an example by Facebook to show that they're really serious -- they mean it, man! -- about advertising violations. So Fishville is offline for the time being, despite the far more popular Farmville supposedly being guilty of the same violations.
Tech Crunch suggests that this selective approach to enforcing the rules is because Zynga accounts for 10% to 20% of Facebook's advertising revenue. You don't want to bite the hand that feeds you, but sometimes you can nip at it just a bit.

63 million people can't be wrong? Really? How many supported Adolf in 1936? How many supported Stalin?
Personally, I find that most of the FB apps are puerile and boring.. The only reason I have a profile on FB is so my long-lost friends can find me (it works - then we switch to Gmail).

Like Old Man Dotes, I find most of the FB apps puerile, boring, and Hitler-esque.

Wait, Hitler? Really? Dude, when responding to the line "63 million people can't be wrong", you don't have to go any further than Britney Spears, McDonalds, or American Idol to make the same point. That said, can I add you as a Facebook friend so you can help me work my farm?

I can't believe someone actually Godwinned a discussion about something as stupid as Farmville. And right on the very first post, too...

Really, so your friends can find you? Well when all three do, please take the time to tell each other about how you used to walk 10 miles to school uphill in the freezing snow with no boots because rubber hadn't been invented yet...Hitler? Stalin? You could have been more relavent and used Bush and Obama, but we wouldn't want to go there now would we, so go back to your shuffleboard and now I got to harvest me some grapes!

I'm not sure if this is a funny comments section or if there is really some tension here. Not to change the subject but I hear ads are back in Wipeout HD thanks to latest patch. =(
