I would have posted this earlier, but I totally had to go play some Need for Speed: Shift after watching this spectacular in-car footage of the Behemoth car from last weekend's 24-Hour Lemons race, Lamest Day.
A few observastions:
* Nice graphics, but it could use a waterfall or a castle.
* The AI cars are obviously set on "easy". Pfft.
* There's no need to jam the force feedback slider up to 10. It's perfectly acceptable to play at 5 or 6.
* Nothing conveys a sense of speed quite like a $500 car.
* Now my teeth hurt.

That was incredible, and, yes, my fillings are loose. Are there any racing games that feature junkers? Once of my favorite racing games was Destruction Derby 2 and I'll still go back to it sometimes. I enjoy Burnout, but sometimes it's a little too fast and the cars recover a bit too quickly.

Mr. Kent Dog, there is a destruction derby mode in GRID. Unfortunately there's just a couple variations of the same track and it's more like an anything-goes race, but it's still a lot of fun especially on-line.

Kentdog, Test Drive: Eve of Destruction was an ingenious Xbox 1 game that was all about rattling junkers souped up for races, demolition derbies, and more. The school bus attack mode is one of the most sublime racing experiences you will ever have. It's backwards compatible with the Xbox 360 and assuming you don't mind moderately dated graphics, I heartily recommend it.
