Robin Burkinshaw announced on Friday that the saga of Alice and Kev would come to end today. He posted the penultimate entry for his Sims 3 blog about a cantankerous homeless guy and his daughter. This description of Kevin's attempted reconciliation with Alice isn't just Burkinshaw's imagination. The Sims 3 is just that expressive. But I do see a lot of subtle emotion in their animations. As Kev hides his face and his tears, I see pity in Alice's eyes, and she gingerly reaches her hand toward his arm, as if she's no longer sure she made the right decision. But before she touches him, she recoils again, and Kev sobs alone.
It turns into quite an emotional cliffhanger when Burkinshaw then says that Kev dies later that night. He says the final entry will be posted on Monday (today). Literally hundreds of well-wishers who've been following the blog post heart-felt comments.
But then Burkinshaw shows up today with this update:It seems I failed to account for a lot of important and interesting new uni work being set when I estimated I'd be able to get it done by today. It will hopefully be up before the end of this week.
Mr. Burkinshaw has a future in hour-long dramas on network television.
