There's a new superhero playable villain coming to Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2. A dude named Carnage will be available as downloadable content in the near future. Since I'm not much of a comic book guy, I look at Carnage and think, "Hey, that guy's already in the game. But he's black and he's named Venom. What gives?"
While I could just read the Carnage Wikipedia page to find out what makes one alien symbiote suit different from another, I'm not really interested in that. I want to know how he's going to work in the game. Developer Vicarious Visions obliges me with an extensive blog entry, in which different members of the team talk about adding Carnage. For instance, lead animator Adam Olshan seems to know what I'm thinking. We really wanted to make sure we didn't make another Spider-Man or another Venom. It was really important that we make Carnage as unique as possible, especially in the way that he moved and the way that he attacked.
The entry describes one of Carnage's powers as shooting spikes out of his body. He can turn his hands into axes. His suit is constantly moving, with a writhing ribbon-like effect. So now I look at Carnage and think, "Hey, that guy's already in another Activision game. It was called Prototype. What gives?"

Given that Carnage came before Prototype, and has even appeared in games before Prototype has, then I'd say that Prototype is a copy of Carnage, not the other way around. What you should be asking yourself is: why are they bringing back a character is currently dead? But we all know nobody STAYS dead in comics do they?

Carnage isn't dead, they just haven't established him returning yet. His death was nothing more then Supe-Erm, I mean the Sentry flew the hyper-resilient Carnage symbiote suit into outer-space, ripped it in half then flew away, while Cletus was elsewhere, it is not inconceivable that a significant enough portion of it thrived within Cletus or returned to Earth to reconstitute the suit in its entirety.
Carnage is my favorite Marvel character, I'm actually waiting until this comes out to buy the game now so I can play through with him first time.Carnage isn't dead, they just haven't established him returning yet. Plus, if I'm not wrong, this is set at the beginning of Civil War in its own unique continuity, so it is possible that Sentry hadn't done it yet.

I just want to say with all sincerity and absolutely no disrespect intended: I love it when comic book guys explain stuff like this. :)

Anyone whose favorite Marvel character is Carnage should take an ice pick, shove the pointy end up their nose and take a hammer to the other end.

Basically, Venom is what happens if you take the symbiote and attach it to a self-serving mercenary jerk with a few redeeming qualities. Carnage is what happens if you take the symbiote and attach it to a totally psychotic serial murderer.

Why is this guy reviewing this? I mean his explanation of what is coming to the game could have been done better by a three year old. All he did was try to put down something he has no clue about. I'm sorry but I expect more from people, like a basic understanding of what it is they are talking about.
