Free add-on for Killing Floor, which is also free
Not that you have any shortage of things to play this weekend, but how many of them are free? Co-op zombie slaughter extravaganza Killing Floor begins a free weekend on Steam today.
Which is great timing, because it also gets a free* add-on today. The Level Up Free* Content Pack adds three new maps, all quite good. In fact, I'd say each of the new maps is better than the game's original maps. The insane asylum that was the site of a recent Halloween-themed rave is both a cute concept and timely. The forest with a waterfall is finally another great outdoor map, much creepier than the farm map. There are also new guns, a level cap increase for your skills, and a new skill to take advantage of the new pipe bombs and grenade launchers. Also, be on the look out for a zombie who shoots fireballs, which hardly seems fair.
* It's not quite free. The new content includes a streaming advertisement in the multiplayer game lobby, which seems like a fair trade to me. You give me a bunch of free stuff and I'll gladly suffer a small ad before my match starts.

Its 1.99 USD for 4 extra characters that don't change the game in any way. but are nice to have i guess for variety. EVERYTHING else is free .(maps, weps, etc etc etc.

@Natus The game is fun and worth the weekend Deal. Its free this weekend so try it out. Just don't run off by yourself unless on easy diff. :)

@Anand69: You obviously haven't been around here much nor do you know very much about videogames at all. Killing Floor is a Left 4 Dead mod for the PC. And if anything, Tom's a PC fanboy. Even then I think he appreciates each of the systems for what they have. So get your gorram facts and ideas straight before posting something foolish.

Its so hard to know who is real and who is trolling so deep undercover that the madness is indestinguishable.
Personally, I am going to keep my zombie killing pallette fresh for Left 4 Dead 2. sorry Killing Floor guys but there is only so much of my hatred for the living dead to go round.

Ive been playing killing floor all weekend and i bought it today it is lovely. The RPG levelling stuff where you can upgrade your classes threw playing on and offline are what really makes this better than the original L4D atleast to me. Gives you something to play towards rather than running through the same scenerios again and again
