My apologies to the folks at Tale of Tales who made The Path and Fatale. I gave Fatale a brief look last week. After flying my viewpoint around a seraglio for a while, I lost Salome and incorrectly concluded that she was nowhere to be found. Tale of Tales contacted me to point out that, yes, she's in there. In fact, she's right in front of you when you start the second section of the game. It just goes to show that cherchez'ing la femmes isn't really my forte.
It's mostly my fault, but I partly blame Fatale's controls. The readme points out that the mouse is "difficult to control on purpose". But I went back in and, sure enough, that figure in the moonlit middle distance is Salome herself. A closer look, managed with some difficulty, reveals the striking but slightly bored woman pictured above. I'm still not sure where Fatale goes from there, and I maintain the game doesn't have the immediate hook of The Path, but I apologize to Tale of Tales and one of history's most famous heroines for overlooking her. John the Baptist made the same mistake and you can see how that turned out for him.

so you are planning on being beheaded and having your head served to the kings of Tale of Tales? if so I must say your dedication to speaking the truth is admirable.
on top of that I have to give you props I've been enjoying your blogs for a while, and since I rarely see anyone compliment you, I figured you'd appreciate knowing there are those of us out here in cyberland that do enjoy your work.

I can honestly say I've never heard Salome described as one of 'history's famous heroines'.

Yeah, I guess she's more of a villain, isn't she? It's all perspective. I suspect the chick in the Old Testament who kills the enemy general with a tent peg is a villain, depending on who you ask.
