Castle Crashers goes back to the races, but with a chicken

Last year, Behemoth, the creators of Castle Crashers, got a little free publicity at a Lemons 24-hour endurance race in Ohio. These races are limited to cars with a maximum value of $500, most of which are decorated with some sort of theme. Some Castle Crashers fans entered a BMW E30 with a cute little green castle crasher painted on the hood. Although the car got stuck in second gear, it finished in 19th place out of 52 cars.

This year, the BMW E30 got an official sponsorship from Behemoth and a more elaborate decoration. Behemoth's mascot, a hugely fat chicken, was built to splay on the roof of the car. While it might look ungainly, anyone who knows driving physics will note the aerodynamic shape provides downforce to keep that BMW from losing traction during high-speed cornering.

The car finished in 49th place out of 132 cars. That's a huge improvement. After beating 33 cars last year, this years they beat 83. At this rate, the races are going to need more and more contestants to keep them from eventually coming in first place.

In more official and less exciting news, the Gamestop sponsored car with a Brutal Legend logo on the hood finished in first place at some NASCAR thing featuring expensive high-end cars guaranteed not to break down, driven by professionals who probably have no clue what Brutal Legend is.

Finally, on the home front, I just won my Class-A World Championship in Forza 3, driving a Ferrari with a picture of a chicken I put on the hood so I could get the ten gamerscore points for the painter achievement.

Oh man all I can say is, I hope GRID 2 features the 24 hours of Lemons race with fully customizable cars. That would potentially be the greatest game ever made.

We (I) demand screenshots of your chicken car in Forza 3.

As one of the guys involved with building the Chicken Coupe, I second the demand for screenshots of your Forza 3 car :)

Well Tom, since you wouldn't post screenshots of your Forza 3 chicken car, I've decided to post screenshots of mine instead ;)

Very nice, Eric! Can you send me that? My Xbox Live gamertag is tomchick.

Unfortunately, I don't think the online component of the Forza 3 storefront is live yet, so I can't get to pictures of my chicken Ferrari. But it's really nothing special. It's just a Ferrari with a chicken graphic on the hood.

Not exactly sure how to send the car to you, as I haven't really done anything online with Forza 3 yet. I added you to my Xbox Live friends list though. Once it goes live and I figure it out, I'll be sure to send it along.
