If you don't have a console system, I have some bad news for you. You wallet is in imminent peril this week due to the release of Red Faction: Guerrilla, Resident Evil 5, and Batman: Arkham Asylum for the PC. These are three of this year's best games, all superb in different ways. So I hope you've learned your lesson, which is that you need a console system already so this stuff doesn't pile up all at once.
Also out for the PC this week is Majesty 2, which is a moderate wallet threat I'll review tomorrow.
For everyone else, I have bad news for you as well. This busy week endangers your wallets as well with the sheer quantity of releases, if not the quality. You will be confronted with Need for Speed: Shift, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2, and Wet. There's an Ubisoft flight combat game called Heroes over Europe. Tornado Outbreak is from the guys at Sucker Punch who left while everyone else was busy making Infamous. For the Xbox 360, there's Pinball Hall of Fame, which includes both the Gottlieb and Williams collections of faithfully rendered classic pinball machines. DS owners will be faced with the very real danger of having to buy Scribblenauts to find out for themselves whether it's a cute gimmick or a bona fide game. I'm still guessing "cute gimmick", but I'd love to be wrong.
Finally, there's some silliness about dudes on ice skates using garden hoes to whack around what looks like a can of shoe polish. I can't quite make it out. Jason from Friday the 13th is somehow involved.
