Batman likes the Playstation 3 better than the Xbox 360

Here's something you don't see every day: exclusive content on the Playstation 3 for a multiplatform release. Not to mention an incredibly popular multiplatform release like Batman: Arkham Asylum.

In the 'Heart of Darkness' FreeFlow™ Combat map, players will battle a mob of relentless and maniacal enemies at the Arkham Pumping Station. Even the most seasoned Batman: Arkham Asylum player will enjoy stepping into the boots of BATMAN to take down increasingly difficult waves of insane inmates. In the 'Hothouse Prey' Invisible Predator™ map, players will have to rely on their Predator instincts to silently and effectively take down enemies at the Abandoned Glasshouse.

The new content will be available beginning September 24th in North America as a free download exclusively on the PlayStation®Network.

There's a reason the Xbox 360 and PC aren't mentioned. Because they don't get these challenge maps.

Arkham Asylum's challenge maps are relatively minor deals when it comes to downloadable content. There are plenty of them already in the game, and there have already been a couple of new ones released for all three systems. But these are two of the game's cooler environments. The pumping room made for a great stealth level in the single player game, so it's a squandered here as a combat challenge. But the abandoned glasshouse, assuming it's the area I'm thinking of near Poison Ivy's prison, is one of the game's more beautiful environments.

Take that, Ballad of Gay Tony!
