World of Warcraft magazine takes Blizzard\'s MMO offline

Just when you thought the print media was dead, a new magazine is being launched. And this is no low-end fanzine. According to Dean Takahashi at Venture Beat:

The magazine will have no ads and will run about 148 pages. It will be high-end glossy, with lots of room for game art and a pull-out poster, and will be packed with all sorts of articles from the perspectives of both game creators and fans.
What subject could sustain such production values in a world where free online content eats print media for breakfast?

In case you missed the headline -- I know a lot of WoW players don't read quest text, so no telling what else they skip -- it's an official World of Warcraft magazine, helmed by the former editor of The Official Xbox Magazine and published by British company Future, known recently for advertising porno to kids. World of Warcraft: The Magazine will be published quarterly. Blizzard will provide more specifics at Blizzcon this weekend.

UPDATE: Good lord, I really flubbed that one. An angry employee of Future Publishing contacted me to point out that I'd confused Future and Imagine. As anyone who followed the above link realized, the story I was referencing was about Imagine's UK publications running ads for pornography in gaming magazines. Future does no such thing and I apologize for the extreme gaffe.
