Our sister site DVICE has posted a great sample of 80s videogame art, taken from the Art of the Arcade collection on Tumblr. Look at all those spectacular colors! Why is it that once videogames found their way into our homes, they fell out of love with those broad swathes of color?

Because, much as the bright blue-lime green color scheme ROCKS, it would look pretty out of place in most peoples' living rooms.
Although I did buy an Ikea rug with the same color scheme for my dorm room years ago.
