If you've ever had any misgivings about being the achievement whore that you really are -- and I confess I might be projecting a little -- then here's a great way to turn respectable: True Achievements. Using this site, I was able to raise my gamerscore from 22,870 to 29,590 in the space of a few seconds, without even turning on my Xbox 360.
True Achievement's "about" section explains how it works.We believe the harder an achievement is to obtain, the more points should be received.
We've decided that an achievement's difficulty can be accurately approximated by using a formula based on how many people have that achievement compared to how many people own the game. We also understand the phrase 'accurately approximated' is a contradiction in terms but are refusing to remove it on the grounds that it sounds impressive.
From there we multiply the original points given to the achievement by our difficulty score and end up with the TrueAchievement score for that, for want of a better word, achievement.
By adding up the TrueAchievement scores for all the achievements you have won, you get your GamerTrueAchievement.To sign up, you simply register with your gamertag and let the new math do its thing. It also offers plenty of options for sorting your achievements, tracking your progress, and even figuring out the best way to raise your newly revised gamerscore given the games you already have. If you care about that sort of thing. I may be projecting again.

I'm too scared to try this - it would probably slash my Gamerscore to nearly zero. I hardly ever bother with out-of-the-way acheivements. I think Crackdown was the only game where I put a serious effort in. And I've started but not finished so many games that a sizeable chunk of my Gamerscore must come from "Complete chapter one on normal difficulty" type achievements.

Ginger Yellow,
Your score cant go down. Everything is weighted upwards, so the really easy ones dont get any weight, but the hard to get ones are weighted more heavily. So you cant be any worse, but you might not get much better.

I'm pretty new to all this chasing a bigger Gamerscore lark but I'm hugely addicted!
There's nothing better than the points popping up on your screen...brilliant idea by Microsoft, that definitely makes me play a game to the death.
Guess it couldn't hurt trying this site to see what my "real" score could be, could it?

So it's still a ultimately a measure of how much you spend on games rather than skill? Meh.

@arms
I'm pretty sure my getting through all of HL2EP1 using only 1 bullet had nothing to do with spending more money.

Yeah, so it doesn't bother you that someone who doesn't have half the skill to manage that can have a higher score than you purely by buying lots of crap games with easy points like King Kong?

Shoot! I was hoping it would take my age into account too!
