Disney Interactive will publish an Alice in Wonderland game to coincide with the release of Tim Burton's movie in March 2010. The game is being developed by Etranges-Libellules, the French studio that did the last Spyro the Dragon game. It will only be released for the PC, Wii, and Nintendo DS, so I seriously doubt it will actually look as good as that screenshot up there, which Disney Interactive just released.
Nevertheless, I love that screenshot (you can click on it for a full-size version). I love the strange composition, with the characters in the lower right corner, and the empty table cutting across the middle, and a rather pointless background brooding behind it all. I love how the White Rabbit is cowering towards us, as if imploring us to help him. And the Mad Hatter's face is hidden in...frustration? Despair? It's not at all a typical videogame screenshot. The whole thing recalls John Tenniel's original Alice in Wonderland illustrations, before the visuals were sweetened up by Disney or made gratuitously edgy by American McGee.
Of course, since this is a licensed game, I just know the Mad Hatter is going to look up and then suddenly -- bam! -- it's Johnny Depp in bad make-up.
