If you've ever had an Age of Conan account and you've checked your email in the last day, you probably know by now that you can revisit the game for free through July 22nd. According to developer Funcom:The re-evaluation offer is valid from July 8th to July 22nd and is available to anyone with a closed account in good standing. Reactivating at any time within this period will open for two weeks of free play - regardless of when you choose to act within that time period. There are no costs associated with this offer or any subscription obligations. It is also important to note that the free trial campaign will temporarily be closed to ensure the best play environment for all returning players.
Details available here.
If returning to Age of Conan isn't your thing, you can return instead to Lord of the Rings Online (pictured) as of today. Developer Turbine's offer to let you come back and play for free lasts through July 15th. Furthermore, you get a +25% experience point bonus for the duration. Details available here.

And you felt the need to add the "forlorn"...why?
Tossing out a negative word like that should require some backup, otherwise it just looks like you are out to undermine what these companies are doing.
The actual content of your post, on the other hand, does not have anything negative.

Tanek, the games are sad. They want you back. They miss you. They still think about you. Can't you tell?

Tom,
For *me* specifically, LotRO never lost me, and AoC never had me, so maybe my perspective is a bit different from what another person's might be.
Don't get me wrong, I understand the companies are doing this to get their lapsed players back into the fold. They are businesses, after all. I guess the word just has too many negative connotations (especially when applied to this particular genre) for me to have used it as a way to refer to the relationship the games have to any one player as opposed to a comment on the general state of the game population.
But maybe I'm wrong and it is all in the angle. I'll try it out later to see what I think. 'Forsaken SyFy wants to bring you back with new marketing campaign'? ;)

You can add Warhammer Online (at least in Europe) to that list. I just got an offer to reactivate my account for 10 days to see their Call to Arms update.

Pity that there is no data available on subscription numbers, but then Turbine at least never announces them, and it looks like "Sir Bruce" has given up on mmogchart.com. How many worlds are currently active for either game?
