Eight videogame places you\'re not supposed to go

Crispy Gamer has assembled a list of videogame places you're not supposed to go.

The eight far-off realms in this article exist for different reasons. They could be developer test areas, or forgotten pieces of landscape that somehow made their way into the final code. Whatever their reason for being, they all have one thing in common: They weren't meant to be explored by the likes of you and me. But through persistence, hacks or some combination of the two, you can take in these rare delights for yourself.
What's particularly great about this list of verboten places is that you're not only provided with directions for getting to them, but there's also video for each one. Think of it as a video travelogue of forbidden zones.

Who could forget the "cat" room in Everquest 1. It was in Befallen and just had pictures of some dudes cat textured on every wall....

Reminds me of the OTM adventures in King's Quest 8: Mask of Eternity. There were places in most(if not all) of the game's maps where a character could go "off of the map", where even though the map border ended, there were still areas to walk around in. It became a sort of "optional quest" for players who wanted an extra challenge.

I was recently at a game museum where they had a playable Atari 2600 with Adventure on it. I was surprised to find I remembered how to get into the secret room still, even though I hadn't attempted the feat since I last played my 2600, twenty-eight years ago. Yeah, and video games aren't impressionable...
