Without so much as an official announcement, Electronic Arts' answer to Team Fortress 2 has gone live. You can now start playing Battlefield Heroes without paying one red cent. But unlike Team Fortress 2 with its canned and cannily written characters, this free-to-play game intends to sell you customization options. By spending Battlefunds (available via PayPal or major credit cards), you can get clothes, emotes, and even Valor Points to help you level up faster.
