All's well that ends well for Neverwinter Nights 2 Mysteries of Westgate add-on?

All\'s well that ends well for Neverwinter Nights 2 Mysteries of Westgate add-on?

The story of Mysteries of the Westgate is a long story. Now that it's finally available for download, hopefully it's a story with a happy ending.

This adventure for Neverwinter Nights 2 was created by a collection of practiced adventure makers for Neverwinter Nights called Ossian Studios. I attended a press event where some of the folks from Ossian showed off a complete build of the adventure. They let several of us play through the opening hours of the game, which is set in the port city of Westgate, with plenty of room to explore in, around, and under the city. It's stuffed with NPC conversations, quests, subquests, unique equipment, and custom art. The Ossian guys were good sports about the fact that Neverwinter publisher Atari had delayed the add-on for several months, presumably to work out a new patch that would install copy protection to keep people for easily pirating the ten dollar add-on.

That was April of 2008. Over the past year, there's been hardly any word about Mysteries of Westgate. Atari has remained mum. They appear to have forgotten about it.

So imagine my surprise to see it released here, without fanfare or even so much as a press release from Atari. All's well that ends well? One can hope.
