Mythic Map Pack adds three maps to Halo 3

Mythic Map Pack adds three maps to Halo 3

Ten bucks will get you three new multiplayer maps for Halo 3, now available on Xbox Live. The maps are Orbital, Assembly (pictured), and Sandbox. The latter seems to be not so much a map as a template for messing around with the Forge feature to build new maps. You can read more about them here.

Between the Mythic map pack, as it's called, and this week's episode of WCG Ultimate Gamer, I've been sorely tempted to jump into Halo 3 multiplayer this week. But then I got to talking with a friend who'd recently tried to it pick up again. After listening to him talk about being ridiculously outmatched despite the ranking system, and how you have to master the art of jumping while shooting, and how many eight-year-olds seemed to be playing, I came to my senses again. Thanks, Matt!

And shooting stupid 8 year-olds in their stupid faces doesn't appeal to you? I guess any moment of triumph, however wonderful it might be, would soon be ruined by your first, inevitable death and the ensuing gaggle of kids arguing over who gets to "tea-bag" you first...then dedicing that they should do it all at once.

Too bad, that game was a lot of fun.

I also went back recently to dip my toe in Halo 3 multiplayer and, after an hour of being yelled at for not 'helping the team out' and being called names I backed away and returned to Call of Duty IV which is still amazing and the community seems much more mature. I'm also better at it :p

I have just been introduced to Battlefield BAD COMPANY on the 360. So far the community is pretty good, combat is a blast, lots of personal achievements ingame and all this is wrapped around very well created maps.

Vehicles are a blast. Weapons are varied and useful in all situations. Variety is the name of the game here. From Conquest to Gold Rush, you have alot of fun attacking and defending points of interest on each map.

Just started more then a week ago. Won't look back. Great game multiplayer.

Yeah Bad Company rocks, probably my favorite competitive multiplayer game on the 360. Can't wait for number 2.

^ Yeah Battlefield: Bad Company pretty much rocks the socks off every other competitive multiplayer game on Xbox Live.

ARRRGH if I get this message one more time I'm going to punch a wall:

I really like bf2142 mostly for the change of pace with the Titan mode and battlewalkers made me a little nostalgic for the mechassault series. I also like the idea of giveing benifits for following the established leaders orders it made the team work as a unit. Speaking of which I noticed that if u work togeter in halo 3 instead of running around trying to get personal points you destroy the other guys. I mean when you launch a coordinated strike instead of everyone finding the best weapon you can and running at the objective. I love baiting the little kids with one sacrifical guy they all teabag and the taking them out with a single grenade. We have a specific guy we play with whose job it is to snipe them then "accidentally" get killed.
And yes I have been having that problem I thought it was because I was doing this on my iPhone.

Bacongrease, you sound exactly like me. The Titans and the battlewalkers was the one thing other than the futuristic setting of Battlefield 2142 that drew me to it. I just wish DICE and EA were as ready to keep this franchise going as much as the other BF games.
