Retro game covers are officially a meme now, but there's still plenty of cleverness to be wrung from the concept. Take, for instance, the entries just posted at a blog called Select Button. The Silent Hill concept above is brilliant (tip of the hat to wourme), but for maximum amusement value, don't miss vision's interpretation of The House of the Dead.

Despite being an avid gamer, I've played all of three games featured on the first page (Mirror's Edge, Quake, and Doom). And heard of less than half.

Also, there's a boob in one of the images.

Balasarius, you need to consciously revolt against the cannibalism of the video game industry, and actually put effort into learning about and playing old games - games that those selling you 60 dollar blurays don't want you to know about. For example, if you haven't played Ultima 7 or Doom, they can sell you Oblivion and Doom 3. If you have, you wouldn't.
