"King down!" was the title of the excited thread on the forums of Warhammer Alliance, a community site for Warhammer Online.
One of the unique features of Warhammer Online is the ability to storm another faction's capital city and imprison their king. This was supposed to be one of the endgame tasks that would require lots of effort, coordination among high level characters in guilds, luck, and hours upong hours of grinding. Six months and numerous balance adjustments after the release of Warhammer Online and no one had ever actually accomplished it.
Until last weekend.
On Sunday, April 5th, on a European server called Dragonback Mountains, the the forces of Destruction stormed Altdorf, the capital city of the forces of Order. They captured Emperor Josef Franz and put him in a cage (pictured). He will remained there until some sort of timer reset, at which point the whole thing has to be done all over again. Ah, fleeting glory.
MMO website Massively reports the basic event here. A blog called Wall of Text details how it took 14 grueling hours to do it. The whole account simultaneously reminds me why I wished I played MMOs more and why I don't play MMOs more.

I still think Warhammer is way better then WoW but the numbers do not seem to show it. I wonder if it is because Warhammer does not seem to be advertised as much as Warcraft.

Actually his name is Karl Franz. Not "Josef Franz". :)

I would have liked to see that on an American Server, but CHEERS to those Destruction. Maybe Americans will begin to work together better and be able to repeat this gruling task.
