Right now it's merely a teaser and a handful of developer interviews, but The Secret World is certainly intriguing. This MMO from the folks who made Anarchy Online and Age of Conan seems to want to break some important rules. According to a Eurogamer article based on a discussion with designer Ragnar Tornquist from Funcom:The Secret World will have no classes or levels. Tornquist...describes it as an "action-adventure-MMORPG" with "fast, reactive combat". Although there will naturally be character progression and an incentive to play the game for a long time, "The Secret World begins where other MMOs end," he says. "There's no grind to get to a preconceived place."...Furthermore, the entire game (which we know will include London, New York, Seoul, New England and Egypt as launch locations) will be open from the start.
Based on these comments and the teaser (I linked again because even though it's not terribly informative, it's worth watching for its craft), it's obvious that this is a game hoping to recapture what Tornquist accomplished in his unique fantasy adventure games, Longest Journey and Dreamfall.
