Universal and Warner Bros. don't t want you to play fair. They've peppered the DVD release of Wanted with cheat codes for the Jolie-less game about a fraternity of assassins.Ten game cheat codes in total are available on the DVD and Blu-ray, with two of the 10 exclusively available on the Blu-ray. The codes can be unlocked when watching through the bonus features in either format. A binary code is given to viewers through a message that congratulates them for uncovering the cheat. The code can then be typed into the game to unlock enhanced weaponry, exclusive game modes and even more playable characters. In addition, the Wanted: Weapons of Fate videogame features two codes that conversely unlock additional bonus features on the DVD and Blu-ray!
Wherever the line is between cheat code and marketing tie-in, Wanted just did some crazy bullet-fu back and forth over it. Also, notice how they favor the Blu-Ray?
If you're playing the game, here are a couple of codes to get you started. For unlimited adrenaline: 01101101. For something called "close combat mode": 01100101. To make Wesley less annoying: 1001001.
(I made that last one up.)
