Our sister site, Sci Fi Wire, got a little hands-on time with the sequel to the original Chronicles of Riddick game. Assault on Dark Athena leaves the first game's rough-hewn prison for a new setting. While Dark Athena offers gameplay almost identical to that of the first game, it has a distinctly slicker look, featuring chromed-out ship environments bathed in darkness, perfect for a fugitive with a 20-menthol Kool shine-job. Navigating the vast sections of the Athena will feel like taking a walking tour of the Death Star.

For your own hands-on time, download the demo from Xbox Live. Publisher Atari promises a Playstation 3 demo will be along later this month. The game launches April 7th.

finished the demo last night. awesome. i dont think ive ever been right infront of an enemy's eyes and they didnt notice, and it wasnt a glitch. i love how u have multiple ways to kill enemies. i recommend dying intentionally just to try another weapon or killing in the dark or at a different spot. i might get this if money allows.
i really hope they continue riddic in video games. cause they do expertly wat i love to see him do, survive. not accidentally take over empires like in the 2nd movie. i loved him in Pitch Black for being Riddic in that situation. (i wonder in my rental store has Butcher Bay)

Assault on Dark Athena is a very realistic game that eloquently blends stealth and FPS. It is also quite challenging, making you think before you do something. It is one of a kind that many people don't appreciate for what it is .
