I bet you Xbox Tomb Raider fans thought you were going to download the Beyond the Ashen Veil add-on for Tomb Raider: Underworld today, huh? Psych! You'll do no such thing. The add-on that won't be coming to the Playstation 3 or PC has been indefinitely delayed due to "an unexpected technical issue". So you'll just have to make do with whatever little dress-up outfits Eidos has posted to date.
The add-on actually sounds like a decent back-to-basics bit of tomb raiding. According to the PR:Lara Croft returns to the rubble of Croft Manor, and discovers an underground area, unbeknownest to her, full of ancient artifacts, requiring her to solve puzzles to traverse through the forgotten rooms.
Ooh, a secret basement! The developers have described it as a creepy medieval dungeon (in a developers diary video, they even claim to have researched torture devices). That sounds like a nice change of pace from the usual globe-trotting. It also sounds like a nice change of pace, because I can't imagine there's anything down there to fight. I'm all for more Tomb Raider that doesn't involve any of Underworld's miserable combat.
Eidos has promised to let us know when they resolve their technical issue and determine the new release date.
