Lego Batman fails to win award for Worst Toy of the Year

Lego_Batman_award_lost.jpgAs you may have read, Lego Batman was nominated for the "TOADY", an award handed out by the Committee for a Commercial-Free Childhood to the worst toy of the year. The Lego take on the Caped Crusader was singled out for not living up to the Lego's trademark creativity and for inadvertently tying into advertising for the PG-13 rated Dark Knight.

But the votes have been tallied and it turns out the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader Barbie was the hands-down favorite.

With 40% of the vote, Barbie sailed to victory over the Power Wheels Cadillac Escalade (21%), the Smart Cycle by Fisher Price (19%), Baby Alive Goes Potty (10%) and The Lego Batman Video Game (10%).
Congratulations Lego Batman. Next year, let's see if we can't do better/worse than tying with a doll that soils itself.
