It's award season, so if you live in Southern California, you've probably got friends running around with screener copies of movies. These tend to be the same level of quality as the actual DVD releases, but graced with some sort of watermark. Some copies have an occasional "Property of..." text crawl at the bottom of the screen. Other copies have the text the entire time, which is pretty annoying.
So I shouldn't be surprised that reviews copies of games are getting into the act. As you can see from my horribly grainy photo, review copies of F.E.A.R. 2 sport big fat watermarks that don't go away, constantly hovering in the upper left hand corner. But if there's any game that suffers most from a giant reminder that you're really not supposed to give this to your friends, much less rip it and post it online, it's a horror game like F.E.A.R. 2. Hey, look, was that Alma I saw lurking behind those giant words?
