Woo-hoo, the Lich King expansion for World of Warcraft has just gone live and I'm posting this from my iPhone at the site of a jubilant midnight madness sale! People are dancing in the streets, making merry, and gallivanting about in their Dranei shaman cosplay outfits and whatnot.
Actually, I made all that stuff up. I'm sitting at home playing single-player Sacred 2. I can't help but feel left out. This is probably one of the biggest gaming "events" of the year, but I'm pretty sure my level 30 priest can't get within a hundred miles of Northrend without being slain by the merest of garter snakes and rabbits.
But here are a bunch of pictures from the press kit Blizzard sent along to make me feel bad. You've probably already seen them since I suspect you're among the millions of players playing World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King.

I was a huge WoW player from launch up until 18 months ago when I finally became utterly tired and exhausted by it.
18 months with not a single MMO since, and the idea of going back still makes me feel tired.
I think I've genuinely had enough of todays MMO mechanics and will continue to putter along with the odd single player game in my own time until something new/revolutionary comes along :)
