Heroes game isn't indestructible

Freedom_Force.jpgLukewarm on the heels of the critically panned and commercially disappointing Lost game, Ubisoft quietly mentioned they've canceled their Heroes game. "Oh, that thing?" they told MTV's gaming blog, "Yeah, we're not really making that thing anymore."

After dwindling ratings and a recent regime change among the producers, the writing is on the wall for the troubled TV show about an indestructible cheerleader and a bunch of other stuff. Not even videogaming will have it. Ubisoft obviously thinks the demand will be too low to recoup the cost of continuing development on a game that hasn't even produced a screenshot yet. So I've attached a Freedom Force screenshot instead. Disgruntled Heroes fans can instead make custom Freedom Force characters based on their favorite Heroes characters. Voila! A Heroes game.

Besides, Ubisoft already has a Heroes game.

This is sort of sad news. I was looking forward to seeing what Ubisoft could do with the game. Given 100% creative freedom, and the ability to make your own character, it could have been extremely interesting.

As for the show, well... :(
