The picture above won Valve Software's Left 4 Dead photo contest, judged by head honcho Gabe Newell. The rules were simple: a photo had to be taken in front of one of the outdoor advertisements for the game, which ruled out a lot of the usual dork-in-the-backyard cosplay shenanigans. The prize is a tricked-out PC that will have to be split two ways between the survivor and his zombie, and maybe three ways depending on the sense of entitlement of the dude who actually snapped the photo.

Heh, I thought it was supposed to be real pics? The winner was pretty obviously photoshopped (not only the fact that noone's going to grab barbed wire for this, but also the obvious cropping boxes around heads and the unreal scenery and all of that). It appears that the only reason it won was because it was an only slightly horrible hack job among a collection of truly horrific efforts. Some of the others were so pathetic (blood applied with the spraypaint tool :D) that it almost made me laugh. Quite a few of them were made over the same stock photo of an ad in the background (seriously, how hard can you NOT try before your head explodes). This contest seems to have been a joke :P Anyone coulda got them a nice computer just by taking the time to put on a bit of makeup and fake blood and finding a real advertisement for the game. If I had known that the contest would take so little effort to win, I would have claimed that compy for myself :D

lol you do realise that there are gaps between the barbs on barbwire that can be grabbed I hope and saying that its photoshopped?, all it looks like is a guy in a zombie mask pretending to attack a guy thats trying to get away.

A pretty crappy image. The computer they gave them probably has L4D crap on it and a dual core processor, nothin else.
