Tomorrow is National Gaming Day. That may not mean much to folks like you and me, for whom nearly every day is National Gaming Day. But tomorrow the day is being officially recognized by public libraries around the country.
Libraries get a bum rap for being behind the times, but if you haven't been to your local library lately, tomorrow would be a great day to drop in and disabuse yourself of notions like the picture to the right. The day is designed to be family friendly (i.e. kid friendly) and it embraces boardgames as well as videogames. Click here to find a participating library near you and check out this entry on ILoveLibraries.org for details like the following:In addition to using the ESRB to guide game selection, librarians do extensive research about the recommended games and play them before they are introduced to kids.
I've used the "extensive research" line as an excuse myself from time to time.
