Be the ultimate badass in Far Cry 2 with your own silenced shotgun
I already get a little bit of a No Country for Old Men vibe from Far Cry 2. As I'm gadding about the Dark Continent, I'll occasionally check the little light on my not terribly sophisticated tracking device. And when it blinks, I'll follow it to a case of diamonds as surely as Anton Chigurh follows his tracking device to a case of cash. So it just seems so darn right that Ubisoft is including among next month's downloadable content a silenced shotgun. Before No Country for Old Men, I'd never even considered that such a thing exists. And next month, I'll be able to use my very own.
Also included will be a crossbow (!) and a sawed off shotgun that looks like some sort of flintlock. They keep some crazy firearms out there in Africa. The Fortune Pack, as it's called, also includes an ATV, a new truck, and four multiplayer maps. The price? Ten bucks.
Normally, I'd be borderline apoplectic that Ubisoft is ripping people off by charging ten bucks for four maps, three guns, and two vehicles. That's all you get for ten bucks? But I confress I've got something of a blind spot when it comes to a game I like as much as Far Cry 2. I'll have to leave the outrage to more reasonable writers, because all I can think of is this:

I thought I was the only one who thought of No Country while playing Far Cry 2! I found myself thinking that I bet this is the sort of thing Chigurrh had in his background, only without the helping people escape the country part.

They should just go all in and add a coin to that list of gear. Making people "call it" would really just seal the deal.

That's not actually a shotgun, FYI - that's an air-gun. The kind they use to slaughter cattle.

No, it's a silenced pump shotgun. The air gun was the little thing he used to open locks on doors, and blow tiny holes in peoples heads.

Anyone at all notice that the exit of the SUPPRESSOR is SMALLER than the end of the 12ga. BARREL?!! This wouldn't even work with SLUGS, much less BUCKSHOT!!!(Laughing hysterically!)

P.S: The only 'real' weapon in this silly game collection is the sawed-off double barrel. It is a mock-up of a modern shotgun, in reality currently made by several firearms companies, including Rossi. The legal version, which also has exposed hammers (and is NOT a flintlock or percussion caplock)can be purchased at your friendly neighborhood firearms dealer. I owned a legal version of this shotgun myself, years ago.

that only works with subsonic ammo. . And must be custom fitted to each gun. How worthless. . .
