World of Warcraft patch glitches make several of the 15 million subscribers angry
I live in California, in the hills just north of Los Angeles. Yesterday, there was an orange glow in the distance and grand plumes of smoke rising into the sky. At first, I thought they were from the brush fires we've been getting. But now I've been told these were instead from the people who've been rioting because they've been unable to log onto their World of Warcraft server after the latest mega-patch went live. The patch primes the game for the Wrath of the Lich King expansion in addition to, uh, changing a lot of other stuff, I guess. I think it even makes a bunch of your stuff disappear, which must be how they balance the game, like nerfing wizards or some such thing.
I'm not exactly a World of Warcraft authority, so we'll have a guest writer from the Sci Fi Channel filing a more detailed report on all the turmoil later today.

Turmoil? What boat did you get off of? MMO more pls. Thanks. Patch is fine, I didn't have a problem with anything in game as of yet, other then the standard realms/servers having heartattacks, and roll backs. But any veteran MMO player knows that comes with the territory.

Perhaps you should try playing the game before writing an article about it. I patched and started playing just fine along with the other folks online last night and today.

There were some servers that weren't back online after the patch for, I think, as long as twelve hours. The server status page looked like a Christmas tree for a while there. :)
But, yes, this sort of things tends to happen with MMOs and patches. Curiously enough, people still get angry. Go figure!

Yes, there has been some issues. I spent a day unable to get onto the game, and still some issues yesterday and today. But, in such a massive game, I expect problems of this sort.

Agreed. This guy clearly has no idea what hes talking about and should stick to Star Trek Deep Space 9 or something.

hahaha, the patch was a bizznatch for my friend, it kept d/cing him while we tried to arena. lol. I actually had no issues besides "the world server is down"... which PO'ed me very much when that happened, because I was usually doing something important...

i still can not play tried to reinstall the game 3 times is it vista 64 or blizzard?
