Rumor: Keyboards in Rock Band 3?

organist.jpgI got an insider tip from "Sean" that Harmonix is looking for someone with elite keyboard skills. As you can see by scrolling to the bottom of this page, Harmonix is looking to hire someone handy with the organ. Here's the job listing:

JOB OPENING: EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT-HARMONIX/Boston: 2+yrs admin exp. Strng communic & interprsnl sk; Proficient MS Word/Excel/PPT. Detail-oriented; str organ sk; fast-paced env. EOE/M/F/D/AAP. Apply www.mtvncareers.com (10/7)
Emphasis mine, as they say. Why else would Harmonix want someone whose "sk" are "str" at the organ in a "fast-paced env." (expert note charts, anyone?) if they weren't planning on including a keyboard player to Rock Band 3?

Surely that couldn't stand for "organizational"...

Cyranix you just killed the god of humour.

"...handy with the organ."

It was brought up by MTV Games in a conference that an organ would be great for gameplay but Harmonix regected the idea due to the fact that it would be almost impossible. Think about it, The size, the gameplay would be damn near impossible not to mention that the screen is already small enough when playing all 4 instruments at the same time (Guitar, Bass, Drums and vocals). It was an idea but it is NOT going to happen. Oh yeah and there is not too many rock songs that hae the organ playing thru atleast most of the song, just another reason why it's not gonna happen

I think that the concept would be to use the guitar for the keyboard, not a new interment. such as if you went to a song with a keyboard part it would list, guitar/bass/keyboard. you would then put the guitar over your lap and use the fret buttons to play the keyboard, (each hand on 2 frets, the 5th in the middle)

this way noone has to buy a new insturment. and the fact is they already have songs without vocal parts so just adding another option for the guitar would be nice.

I also heard they are going to add another guitar part to the mix, so 3 guitar parts, drums, mic, keyboard. but limit the game still to 4 players.

My dad works for ROCK BAND and he said they are makin keyboards

my dad works for yo mama and he said he was gonna lay the pipe... so whatever

Your dad works for a videogame? That's interesting...If you mean he works for Harmonix, I'd maybe be a less specticle. But you failed it by saying he works at Rock Band.

Keyboard Rock? That would be an interesting game.

I think a keyboard would allow so many awesome songs to be added to the Rock band line up. For starters, Journey has several songs that are pretty difficult on VOCALS, guitar, and most of there songs use a keyboard (Seperate Ways and Dont Stop Believin')

Well, just read all the comments. I have to say, I don't agree with any of this. KeyBoards in a ROCK out game! Thats no way of rocking. KeyBoards cannot be added into the game. The Guitar "Being a Key Board" that Idea was lame. No way in hell they would so such thing. All things aside, there is not enough space on a tv to add Keyboards.
