Today I did the 'I'm just going to log in real quick and check something in the auction house' thing. And then I played for four hours.
I was at the auction house trying to assemble two optimized sets of armor. I've kept one set of medium armor and one set of light armor. I change based on whether I'm soloing (in which case I'll be taking damage and I need the more effective medium armor) or grouping (in which case everyone else should be keeping enemies away from me while I heal them, which I can do more efficiently if I don't have to wear medium armor).
Unfortunately, I think I'm going to give up on that. It's a huge hassle to change armor. It takes up a lot of precious inventory space, it requires a lot of fiddling with tiny icons, and I have to periodically visit and pay bards to change my traits based on what armor I'm wearing. I was hoping I could use the "outfit" inventory slots for a back-up set of armor, but these are strictly for cosmetic stuff. So screw it. I'm going full-time medium armor.
Speaking of cosmetic, I love my new look (pictured above), which is the product of a lot of fishing and a lot of running around! I've got a new horse, a new gown, and some furniture for when I finally decide to settle down and buy a house. The Shire is nice, but I've got my eye on a cute little place on Fairwood Lane near Duillond. Thankfully, the summer festival is over, so no more wasting time fishing for stuff to trade in for clothes and furniture. It's time to get 50.
By the way, I wonder when the autumn festival starts?
