Gears of War 2 reality [sic] show on Spike TV

Gears_cosplay.jpgHey, if you're going to be in Los Angeles to try to get onto the Rock Band reality TV show, you might as well go all-in and try to get into the Gears of War 2 reality TV show, too! It can't hurt to hedge your bets.

Spike TV will air "a real-life televised Gears of War 2 adventure" and they need contestants to audition. But first you have to send in a picture (natch) and fill out a questionnaire.

The questionnaire (yeah, I looked at it, so what?) has the standard questions about whether you've been on TV, what you have going on the internet, and if you're up for any other reality TV shows. Because, man, wouldn't that be awesome if the next bachelor was also chosen to be the Gears of War 2 TV superfan? Oh, they also want to know if you're a felon. No mention whether that's a plus or a minus, but I'm pretty sure Gears 1 opens with Marcus Fenix breaking out of prison. I'm just going to write 'yes'. It's not like they check those things, right?

Then they want you to establish your Gears cred by telling how many hours a week you play, what's your favorite weapon, and how long it took you to beat the game. All of these questions instruct you to "please explain". For instance, I wrote that it took me ten hours to beat Gears of War. I then explained that six of those hours were spent trying to figure out the deal with the General RAAM boss battle at the end.

So good luck, and I hope to curb stomp you at the audition!

wasn't i just saying how reality tv NEVER fails to surprise.

next there's going to be a tomb raider archaeologists reality show. then a cooking mama reality show. then a POKE'MON reality show: "hi, i'm your host, Guy Hansom. and right now our challengers are in the amazon rain forest searching for rare pokemon. whoever captures the most endangered species wins! extra points for avoiding the border guard."

USA used to show competitive Halo tournaments. Yeah, it was as boring as it sounds.

How could watching a bunch of kids spazz out and swear like pirates be boring? Are you insane? My goodness, it sounds magical!

how about a bunch of fan boys trying to play cops and aliens while posturing in front of a camera?
