Castle Crashers to be patched, but no fix planned for picky princesses

CastleCrashers_buggy.jpg"Castle Crashers is a buggy mess!"

At least that's what I'd heard. It's apparently not quite ready for prime time when it comes to playing online, and the developers seem to know it. A patch is on the way. So now whenever something happens that I'm not quite sure about, I figure it's a bug. Two knights whacking away at mid-air or maybe even each other? Bug. Animals unable to contain their bowels? Bug. My cute little pet ram only occasionally knocking someone over? Bug. Me frequently and repeatedly killed? Bug.

When I played local co-op this evening, me and two friends killed one of the bosses and reached the end of the level. The game wouldn't move us on to the next section. Bug! Ah, the dotted line across the captive princess. We had to cut her loose. We did so and the level still didn't end. Bug! Ah, wait, don't we have to kiss the princess? We tried. She was having none of it. She wouldn't kiss any of us. Bug!

But then one of my friends noticed that while we were standing in front of the princess pressing the X button to try and interact with her, our sword swings were doing damage to each other. "Maybe you have to fight for the princess' kiss?" he suggested. Which we did.

Their newly created level 3 characters didn't stand a change against my level 16 character. But my friend was right. So Castle Crashers isn't always buggy. It's just that princesses are very particular with their kisses and sometimes require a show of strength.
