So Spore is out this week. Finally! Now you, too, can find out what this game is all about. But should you? I suppose you could go read a review somewhere and base that on whether or not to buy Spore. Or just take two d20s and roll them. If the number comes up lower than Spore's rating on Metacritic, go for it!

10. The creature creator is really awesome. However, you don't really need Spore for that. EA is making it freely available (UPDATE: for nine bucks) with the hopes that you'll create a cool creature and then want to put your creature into the game to see what it's all about.

9. At one point while I was playing the creature stage, a meteor fell out of the sky. Also, a UFO showed up once and beamed up a pink lizard-looking thing with big eyes and a beak. So those things happened.
