The 6 most violent videogames you've never played

massacre3.jpgCracked.com has posted a list of six old-school videogames "just as brutal as Grand Theft Auto IV", although some of them definitely out-GTA GTA. Most of them existed under the radar of the average gamer. Did you know there was a Texas Chainsaw Massacre game (pictured above)? How many people have ever actually seen a copy of Custer's Revenge for the Atari 2600, which exists mainly as a game people talk about rather than a game anyone actually played, much less bought?

I do remember Harvester, their #3 choice, not because of the cheesy FMV graphics, but because of the ending. You have to beat your girlfriend to death with a baseball bat while she begs for her life. At which point, you discover you've been in a virtual reality program all along, training to be a serial killer. Psyche! I suppose Harvester 2 would have moved on to actual violence.

Thanks Craig!

Wow, I remember Barbarian for the C64! If I remember correctly, it had more than just chopping heads off as a finishing move. there was one way to remove your opponents still beating heart from their chest. I think there may have been some blood dripping out as well.

I don't think it was a very good fighting game though, I don't remember playing a whole heap of it.
