What a terrible episode. Lots of fumbling around in the dark with unclear objectives and almost no story elements. And instead of a cliffhanger before the final episodes, there was an almost laughable "huh?" moment involving a giant fuzzy headless chicken floating in the air. At least I think that's what it was. Maybe Siren will deign to explain it at some point in the final episode.
Spoiler talk after the jump.
Twice this episode you have to take out a "brain shibito" to progress. But you're given no info about where or who this "brain shibito" is. In the first chapter in particular, this involves some serious backtracking, which will be to little avail until you figure out that you have to turn off the elevators that you already went to such pains to turn on. Because otherwise, the brain shibito will escape. And believe it or not, the brain shibito is the nurse with the leech face. Who is actually Yukie.
I know all this – not that I really care at this point – because I finally resorted to looking up a walkthrough. I was stuck forever in those mines, which I already knew all too well from previous episodes. It's bad enough dealing with obtuse goals in a game. It's even worse doing it in the same level you've already played three or four times.
The only archive item I found this time was Sam Monroe's voice recorder. Considering he's the professor who's supposed to untangle the mystery of Hanuda, I figured this would at last clear up some mysteries! So I jumped into the archive menu, went to the entry for Sam's voice recorder, and…nothing. It's just a description of the recorder. There doesn't seem to be any way to play it.
As for the cliffhanger cinematic, I have this to say: "Huh?" Seriously? A giant fuzzy floating chicken without a head? You burned up Miyako for that? And I'm completely lost in terms of where Amana and Seigo stand in all this, much less who they are. At this point, Siren, in the eleventh hour, you really should start clearing things up for me in time to care about the ending. Because you've got some 'splaining to do.

IIRC, you have to press O to play the recorder. If that doesn't work, then that recorder is one of the items where the details are added later on after you finished the game.
Amana wants the ceremony to be completed to satiate the God. Seigo wanted the same thing during the first loop. However, ever since the 2nd loop, he realized that he doesn't want to be a part of it anymore. This is why he's hunting for the Uryen. How is this not obvious to anyone playing the game?
Spoiler-
PS. that floating thing is not chicken. It's a half-completed form of what eventually would be a half mermaid/half insect creature, the God that Amana and the villagers worshipped.
