A British web-comic artist named Chris Thomas recently paid a visit to Microsoft's offices in London. He then blogged a bit about the new Xbox Live dashboard, the avatars, how you scroll around the interface, the release date of Grand Theft Auto IV's downloadable content, and Microsoft's Singstar clone.
Wait, back up a second. The release date of the Grand Theft Auto IV downloadable content?
Talk about burying your lead! Thomas said he was told it would be out in November. Furthermore, he was told it will offer 15 hours of gameplay, which leads him to speculate that it might be a whole new area. That figure certainly implies a lot more than a couple of cars and maybe another gun.
It's an interesting theory that Microsoft chose to announce this info via a web-comic that would reveal it in a blog entry under a comic about Darth Vader and a squirrel (I still don't get it), but personally, I'll wait until I hear something from Take Two, and preferably Rockstar themselves, before I go marking up my calendar. Because so far, the Grand Theft Auto downloadable content has been the subject of a lot of confused wishful thinking.
