I want no part of #2. As for #1, I'm not sure I believe that. British gaming site CVG was told failed epilepsy tests are the reason behind Wipeout HD's delayed release on the Playstation Store. "[It] fails the epilepsy tests so much that it has to be re-engineered," says an unnamed source.
So there are degrees of failure? How much is "so much"? As bad as a Pokemon cartoon? And what does "re-engineered" mean? Re-built entirely? Tweaked? "Re-engineered" sounds like one of those words someone in IT says to someone who doesn't know any better to justify whatever schedule the IT guy wants. It's a shame CVG won't cite their source, because that's the sort of comment that begs for a follow-up.
Sony Entertainment Europe CEO told Eurogamer that it's a "really, really trick technical problem that no region has been able to solve", but stopped short of advising Wipeout players to keep a pencil handy.
