The last big summer release until the late-August glut is this week. Civilization: Revolutions is the slick adaptation of Sid Meier's ingenious DIY history of the world series. You're faced with the tough choice of playing on a next-gen console system or the Nintendo DS. Or both. Because if the game turns out to be good (don't worry, it is), what if you want to be able to play it on a big screen and when you're away from home? It's a valid question, and it's likely to make you about a hundred dollars poorer this week.
Otherwise, the threats are marginal, consisting of a couple of platform do-si-dos. Devil May Cry 4 crosses over to the PC and Unreal Tournament 3 crosses over belatedly to the Xbox 360 (in an unusual turn of events, it's been available on the Playstation 3 for months). Neither game is particularly suited to either platform, but hey, a game company's gotta eat.

How is the DS version of Civ Rev? I don't have much interest in the 360/PS3 version but I use my DS often enough when I'm away to make the DS one a smarter purchase.

Pity there's no remoteplay for the PS3 version.

You didn't even mention the only game that matters, Chocobo's Dungeon.

Why, oh, why does even a Civ game have to feature giant boobs?
Sigh.
