Team Fortress 2 gets a whole lotta love

team_fortress_2_sniper.jpgYou met the heavy weapons guy a while ago. Since then, you've met the demoman, the engineer, and the soldier (if you haven't met them yet, you really should go here and do so). Now it's time to meet the sniper.

Valve continues to do a superlative job supporting Team Fortress 2, and not just with game updates such as the new weapons and achievements for pyros coming on Thursday. By continuing to market the game after its release with creative touches like the "Meet the…" movies, they're showing the sort of love that's all too rare in an industry of developers contracted to do one-off projects for publishers.

Of course, Valve also has the creative chops to make this work well. You can see the same sense of humor trickling into other videogames, sometimes successfully (Battlefield: Bad Company's cinematics and short trailers are mostly pretty good). Effective humor and affection are rare qualities in videogaming. It's a treat to see a company like Valve continually express them so well.
