As you were playing through Metal Gear Solid 4, did you wonder what that flintlock did? The one with the long Japanese name that cost one million Drebin points? And how long was it before you realized there was no way you were going to be able to afford it on your first playthrough, even with the charity Drebin points you get from the Metal Gear Rex sequence and the endgame discount? Whatever, Kojima. Ya big tease.
The kind souls at Gametrailers have earned the million points so you don't have to. You can check out a video of the tanegashima in action, which gives new meaning to the phrase "shooting the breeze". After seeing that, I'm sure as heck not paying a million Drebin points for something I can get for free in the first few levels of the latest Ratchet & Clank. Gametrailers also shows off the eponymous gun of the Patriots (that's all it does?) and the environmentally friendly solar gun with its minimal carbon footprint.

Is that the solar gun from Lunar Knights?

I believe it's the Solar gun from Boktai, seeing as how Snake has to charge it up in daylight.
And I believe the Patriot gun is more as a reference to MGS3, since it was The Boss' gun, which you get at the end of that game.

Lunar Knights is actually the fourth Boktai game, so both of you are correct.

Fourth? Did the third not come out in America or something?
Having Snake hold his gun up and shout "Sunlight!" every time he needs to reload is made of win. Also, tornado gun with physics = awesome. Pity it's so expensive.
But yeah, the Patriot gun is not exciting.
