About Fidgit

It's always time to play. At least that's what we think. If you agree, welcome to Fidgit, where we love playing games and telling people about games. (So you can guess how happy we are to do this for a living.)

Here's what you'll find in Fidgit: game news, straight-up reviews, interviews with people who have something to say, previews and postviews. (Like it? We just made that word up to describe how we revisit reviews when we discover something new, cool or crappy.)

When we're not playing or writing, we're listening -- to you. Post responses to items or point out something cool that you've run across. Tell us if we get something wrong. (It happens.)

So, welcome, and play hard because you've got more than one life to live.

About Tom Chick, Fidgit's Editor

Tom Chick, Editor of FidgitTom Chick has been writing professionally about the videogaming industry for over fifteen years. He has contributed to Wired, Variety, Yahoo, IGN, Gamespot, Gamespy, 1up, Computer Games Magazine, and Computer Gaming World, as well as numerous other sites and publications, including textbooks and anthologies. He has been a regular contributor to the Sci Fi Channel's publications for nearly five years.

Chick has a reputation as a tough but fair critic, and his columns and reviews are known for their combination of humor and insight. His ongoing series of short fiction, Shoot Club, was widely regarded as a unique contribution to games writing, expressing through fictional characters the role and significance of videogaming in the enthusiast's life. His articles were lauded by the New York Times as a rare American example of the New Games Journalism that "reflects how people experience games more accurately than the [other articles] that are the meat and potatoes of the gaming press". He was recently dubbed "the goddamn king of videogame journalists" by the popular webcomic Penny Arcade.

Although raised in Arkansas, Chick now lives in Los Angeles. He has a master's degree in Theological Studies from Harvard Divinity School.
